  • Ian has proudly called Fairport home for most of his life, and he has been actively involved in this community since he was young. Over the years, he has volunteered with many local organizations and events, including Canal Days, Oktoberfest, and the Fairport Perinton Merchants Association, along with many other efforts that help strengthen the character and sense of community that make Fairport such a special place to live. Today, he is proud to serve as Co-Chair of the Fairport Canal Days Festival, where he works closely with fellow volunteers, local businesses, and community partners to support and promote the Village, its businesses, and the unique charm that defines Fairport.

    Professionally, Ian is an Account Executive with a local factory automation company. He works with a wide range of clients, including local governments, to improve operations, plan investments, and manage complex projects. That experience has strengthened his ability to evaluate challenges, balance priorities, and focus on practical solutions that deliver real results.

    Earlier in his career, Ian worked with the City of Providence Redevelopment Agency, where he gained valuable experience supporting economic development, first-time homebuyer programs, and infrastructure initiatives. He also worked in Monroe County government, where he was responsible for operations, communications, and community outreach, while working collaboratively with public and private stakeholders to advance important initiatives and projects.

    As someone who would be among the youngest to serve as a Village Trustee, and as a husband and father of two very young children, Ian believes it is important that Village leadership reflects both longtime residents and the next generation of families putting down roots here. His family and others like them want Fairport to remain a safe, welcoming, and affordable community where people can build a life, raise a family, and stay for the long term.

    Ian is running because he believes Fairport is at an important point. Ongoing development, zoning decisions, public safety, and rising costs are creating challenges that require thoughtful, balanced, and resident-focused leadership. Village government should be transparent, fiscally responsible, and grounded in the everyday needs of the people who live and work here.

    His goal is to stay focused on Fairport — preserving the qualities that make the community unique, supporting smart and appropriate growth, and making sure residents have a strong voice in the decisions that affect their daily lives. He believes good local government should be practical, accountable, and centered on the community it serves.

Paul Keitz

Candidate for Village Trustee

  • Mechanical engineer with 36+ years in environmental restoration

  • Extensive experience managing budgets and complex projects

  • Paul Keitz has lived in Fairport for the past 15 years with his wife and has established family roots within the Village, which he considers an honor and a privilege. He has attended many parades and Village activities, including Canal Days and the Music Fest, and wants to get more involved with future decisions that will positively impact the Village of Fairport — which is why he is running for Village of Fairport Trustee.

    Paul is a degreed Mechanical Engineer with over 36 years of experience in the Environmental Restoration field. He has worked with multiple clients with budgets ranging from a few thousand dollars to millions of dollars. Budgets are an important part of the decision-making process, and require an intelligent, carefully thought-out approach that makes sense with input from residents — essentially the client. In his line of work, Paul works with a range of clients across the private, commercial, and governmental sectors, which has given him a wide array of day-to-day experience. Various client interactions have taught him to listen to and tailor expectations from pen to paper, yielding positive outcomes while keeping the environment safe, much the same as the Village of Fairport expects and deserves.

    Paul comes from a family with a wealth of experience and knowledge in associations and board positions within their communities. His father is currently President of both residential communities where he resides, in Canandaigua, New York and Port Orange, Florida, handling financial decisions involving landscaping maintenance, snowplowing, roof replacements, pool maintenance, and more, with input from association board members and residents. His father-in-law has served on various boards in the Town of Perinton and the Village of Fairport for approximately 20 years and has extensive knowledge of what works and what doesn't. Based on the experience of both his father and father-in-law, Paul has a solid foundation of knowledge to draw from and bring to the table as a Village of Fairport Trustee.

    Paul is also running for Village of Fairport Trustee because he believes the Village is at an important crossroad regarding zoning changes, development decisions, and, most importantly, financial decisions. Based on the monthly Village Board meetings he has attended, Village residents' opinions appeared to have been lost along the way. Paul is a firm believer in listening to Village residents, instituting transparency, and then making decisions that make sense from a financial standpoint and benefit the Village's taxpayers.

    As Trustee, Paul will stay focused on preserving the historical integrity of Fairport, maintaining the health and safety of the Village, and, above all, a policy of listening and transparency.

  • Jason has proudly called Fairport home for the past 14 years as a resident and homeowner, and he has been actively involved in the community during that time. For the past eight years, he has volunteered with the Fairport Music Festival, supporting an event that brings residents, visitors, and local businesses together and highlights the strong sense of community that makes Fairport such a special place to live. Through both his volunteer work and everyday life in the village, he has seen firsthand the growth and changes shaping the community.

    Professionally, Jason is a small business owner in the trades, operating a tile installation company that has served the Rochester area for decades. He began working in the business alongside his father while still in high school, learning the value of hard work, craftsmanship, and building strong relationships with clients and local builders throughout Monroe County. Today, he is proud to continue that work, contributing to projects that have become part of countless homes in the region.

    In his early 30s, when his father became critically ill with cancer, Jason stepped in to take over the day-to-day operations of the business. After his father's passing, he continued running the company, maintaining the relationships and reputation his father worked so hard to build. That experience strengthened his ability to manage responsibility, adapt to challenges, and make thoughtful decisions under pressure.

    As a homeowner and small business owner, Jason understands the importance of maintaining a community that is both welcoming and sustainable for residents. He believes it is important that village leadership reflects individuals who are invested in Fairport's future and committed to preserving the quality of life that draws people here.

    Jason is running because he believes Fairport is at an important crossroads. Continued growth and increased activity bring opportunity, but also require careful, balanced decision-making.
